Personal conversation with Jim Walker at breakfast in Brighton, Ontario on 28 July 2000. (Jim recalled for me that Edward Van Wicklin, his grandfather, had four sons and a daughter--Lewis G., Gordon, Elsie Pearl, Arthur, and David. When asked about the "James" who appears in the 1901 census he at first did not recall him; however, he then recalled hearing of a "brother" that went to California in search of gold. He also recalls an "Uncle Bob" who would almost certainly be Edward^8's brother, Robert.)
